As the title suggests, I'm looking for a book with main character that has an anti-hero arc. Ideally, I'd like to see them starting off as a good person, but progressively becoming more and more extreme.
Bonus points if there's an intense relationship/friendship where one character essentially corrupts the other.
I've probably read some of the books you might be tempted to recommend, so I'll list them out below:
– These Violent Delights (Micah Nemerever)
– The Picture of Dorian Gray
– The Poppy War Trilogy
– She Who Became the Sun + He Who Drowned the World
I've enjoyed some series where the main character is good person in the first few books, but changes dramatically in later ones. I also loved the first season of Killing Eve, the last season of Hannibal, and the first season of The Recruit. Personally, I'd prefer fantasy/sci-fi, but other genres are good too.
