Hello all, I’m Looking to read a book about the experience of growing up without a father, in order to better empathize with this situation, given that I did grow up with a dad. This could be in the form of a memoir, or even literature. Ideally this is a key part of the book and it talks about the repercussions for the child of the absent father.
I’m not particularly interested in theory/psychology about this phenomenon but rather I would like to empathize emotionally with this experience. (Although I would happily read something theoretical on the topic in article form)

Lion by Sonya Walger! It’s like 172 pages, recounts the author’s actual childhood, and has daddy issues galore!
