Hi! I’m a big reader and I mostly read books published by traditional publishing houses. Lately, I’ve had this feeling that I’m missing out on amazing hidden gems—books that aren’t traditionally published and are just waiting to be discovered.
That’s why I’m here asking for your help: I’d love to get recommendations for self-published books that you think deserve more recognition, or your favorite hidden gems that are still available to buy.
Thanks in advance! 📚✨

I read 50-70 books per year, and I have shifted to reading mostly indie (or books that began as indies).
Some gems that began as indies:
Dungeon Crawler Carl
Art of the Adept (author was indie)
Project Hail Mary (author was indie)
Some of my favorite gems that are indie:
The Perfect Run
All the Skills (ongoing)
See These Bones (Murder of Crows trilogy)
Mother of Learning
Jake’s Magical Market (final book is the best)
Mage Errant
I’m also an author, and my 6 book series flew under the radar. It starts with Majority by Abby Goldsmith.
Digestible thrillers that I read recently were “Going Zero” and “A Dimmed Devotion”. Both were thought provoking and enjoyable.
Arguably the best indie novel of the 21st century: *Shagduk* by J.B. Jackson. At least I think it’s indie. Pilum Press is either new or boutique. I’m so glad I discovered that book.
