hi all! i recently finished “between two fires” by christopher buehlman and i really loved it—and i’m hoping to read more this coming year, so i would love some recommendations!
things i enjoyed about this specific book (suggestions don’t need to meet every single one of these):
– older male protagonist, gruff and stern but caring (joel miller from the last of us vibe). major bonus points for being a girl dad. could be a romantic lead, but doesn’t have to be (i don’t think i’ve ever read a romance novel, a change of pace could be neat)
– historical setting (i’m a historian, so i’m a sucker for that sort of thing. any time period, any place)
– fantasy elements (apocalyptic, magical, supernatural, cool with anything)
– i do love a good mystery, so general intrigue is great. i like having questions to chew on
and unrelated to “between two fires,” i also love westerns and spy stuff. ooh, and animal friends. i’m comfortable with 18+/nsfw suggestions. hopefully that gives a wide net! thanks a ton for y’all’s time!
