Hello! I am looking for some book suggestions that are either historical fiction or nonfiction that reads like fiction (in detail, pacing, perspective). I normally read heavy SciFi and Fantasy, but I’d like to pick a different genre for a book club I’m starting in my family. So far theyve shown interest in:
-Genghis Khan/Mongolian Era
-Henry the Fifth/Hundred Years War
-Greek/Roman Politics
Although, not limited to the above list- What are some historical fiction books that are real page turners?

I really liked The Nightingale by Kristin Hanna
I really enjoy Margaret George historical fiction: Helen of Troy, Cleopatra,Nero, Henry VIII, Elizabeth I… and more. She gets into military strategy as well as day to day events.
Kate Quinn does some Roman historical fiction but I prefer her WWII books like the Rose Code, Diamond Eye, and the Huntress.
Tolstoy’s War and Peace (Napoleonic wars, particularly Russia’s participation).
