I have never been able to get into sci-fi in really any form of media. Honestly, I'm not much of a fantasy person either. That said, I really want to experiment going into 2026.
Anyone have a book that got them into sci-fi?
Good (maybe not so much morally, but entertaining at least lol) characters are a must! I tend to get hooked on characters over the environment, world, or plot. I love good world building, honestly, I just need to feel devoted before they try to explain what the world is like 😔

Murderbot (All Systems Red). I too am a character reader and Murderbot (along with a Long Way To a Small Angry Planet) was what got me reading scifi.
It’s a great character, a great world, and it’s a novella so you don’t have to read 400-600 pages to see if you like it.
