Ok so last year I read The Bear And The Nightingale by Katherine Ardern and LOVED IT. It has the most gorgeous atmosphere, relatable characters and beautiful prose. I find I’ve been in a reading hangover ever since. I just cannot seem to find something similar. Generally speaking I love fantasy and historical fiction (or books set in a modern day that have some fantastical or mysterious element).
The only other books that have come close that I also really enjoy are Sepulchre by Kate Mosse and the Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry.
I would love recommendations from folks who have read these books and can recommend something similar to scratch the itch. As it stands I’m just planning on rereading TBATN at this point 😆
