Looking for fiction books that include music. I loved Once Upon a K-Prom and now want more. Mostly after books that have a musician mc but I’m okay with that not being the case.
If you enjoy fantasy you’d probably like The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, and its sequel. Keep in mind that the series is unfinished and likely to stay that way, but I’d still recommend reading what’s there, definitely worth it imo. A legendary fantasy hero in hiding tells his life story and how it all went wrong…
Beautifully-written, interesting characters, rich world building, creative magics. The main protagonist is sort of a child prodigy who grew up with a traveling troupe of musicians/performers, the son of two talented musicians.
Another fun one that’s a bit closer to urban-fantasy/’horror’, is The Troupe by Robert Jackson Bennett. The main protagonist is a pianist playing for a theater on the Vaudeville circuit, who decides to investigate a mysterious and possibly supernatural troupe.
