I am looking for books where the protagonist knows that they will (likely) die soon. The reason doesn't really matter to me, it could be a risky operation for example or some incurable diesease. I recently read Three Days of Happiness, a Japanese light novel, in which (mild spoiler ahead, basically the premise of the book): the protagonist sells most of his remaining lifetime for money and only has 3 months left. I especially like stories where the protagonist doesnt like their life, but then once they know their end is soon to come, they slowly realize the value of life. Thanks for your suggestions!
