I mostly read sci-fi and crime/mystery/thriller books. I’m looking for some spy stuff – bonus points if it shows the seedier aspects of that sort of work.
I loved Slow Horses. I’ve also enjoyed the Harry Bosch and Reacher novels.

William Boyd – The Predicament
I received an advance copy of the Predicament and loved it. Great spy novel. It was clear while reading it that there was a novel before it in the series. I read Gabriel’s Moon after. Really good spy series with a third planned. I also second the other recommendation for the Bond novels.
