I’ll be honest. When I first saw Smart Broke Dumb Rich, I assumed it was another fake “get rich” book. Bad title, bold claims, same pattern I’ve seen a hundred times. I almost didn’t read it.

I started it mostly to confirm my suspicion.

But after a few chapters, I realized something was different. It doesn’t sell fantasies. It doesn’t hype you up or promise fast money. It actually explains why a lot of “smart” people stay broke, how average people sometimes stumble into wealth, and how the system really rewards behavior, not intelligence.

Some parts were uncomfortable to read because they hit close to home. Especially the parts about overthinking, waiting for the perfect plan, and mistaking knowledge for progress.

Is it perfect? No. But it’s not a scam, and it’s definitely not another recycled motivation book. It felt more like someone honestly laying out patterns they’ve observed, without trying to look smart.

If you’re tired of flashy advice and want something that makes you rethink how money actually works in real life, it’s worth the read. I’m glad I gave it a chance instead of judging it by the cover.
