Book about how government, it’s agencies and projects were funded before income tax started in 1913
Just like the title says. Inspired by a meme(?) I saw online, I would like to learn more about how government was funded before the permanent income tax.
I don’t know of any books about this, but I imagine this has probably been asked in r/AskHistorians. If it hasn’t been done before, this could be a good question to ask there.
