Hello! I am looking for a book to read right now that is fairly similar to the masterpiece, of Animal Farm, since it was just amazing. I am a 13 year old, who is deeply invested in modern-ish- history such as the soviet regime, and other 19th-20th century historical things. I would really like a book, like as stated before, similar to Animal Farm. The main thing I ESPECIALLY DON'T WANT THOUGH, is YA Dystopia, which I personally think is gimmicky, and just really bad. So, if you could please recommend me a good book, I would really appreciate that.

Perhaps: Lord of the Flies
Are you looking for a well-crafted short satirical political allegory? At that age, I loved The Brief and Frightening Reign of Phil by George Saunders.
I’ll take the obvious answer and say 1984 by Orwell but also suggest a couple tangents: Hollow Kingdom is also about animals dealing with a world absent modern makers (though the language is a bit adult), Crime and Punishment, which is a bit earlier but deals with ambiguous morality, and (I’m torn here between two Austen books) Sense and Sensibility which deals with the hardships primogeniture placed on women in the Edwardian era, and Pride and Prejudice, which critiques the era’s need for matchmaking based on initial impressions and short term needs as opposed to long term harmony.
Edit: can’t believe I forgot the quintessential allegorical novel The Great Gatsby, it’s still one of my favorites.
