I know at least that his seemingly most famous works have some really good modern translations: *The Count of Monte Cristo* by Robin Buss, and the *Musketeers* series by Lawrence Ellsworth.
I recently finished The Count of Monte Cristo and am really curious about Dumas’s other books. But after becoming interested in Dumas, I’ve realized how a good translation can really make a difference for these kinds of works. So I’m wondering which of his other works have the best combination of being just a good book in general *and* being well translated?
