I have just finished Sotheby’s: the inside story , and have also read 100 years of solitude, I’ve been getting back into reading and as you can see im open to anything, could someone PLEASE SUGGEST ME A BOOK, I like the classics a lot, but some are just unreadable, ideally I would like to read a classic that still holds up today, max 600 pages as I’m still getting back into reading. I’ve been told east of eden by John Steinbeck is good and also the cider house rules by John Irving, I have also been looking at Dracula and On the road, i hope this gives an idea for a good suggestion.
I like:
Fantasy
Magical realism
Counterculture
Afro-surrealism
Dirty realism
World literature
Classics
I am partial to:
Horror
Thriller
Romance
Comedy
I don’t like:
Sci-fi
Crime/ spy novels
(Though I could be changed)

The Master and Margarita – Mikhail Bulgakov
The Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters. The first is “Crocodile on the Sandbank” – murder-mystery romance set in Egypt about a female archeologist, during the late 1800s. Peters is, by education, an egyptologist. The story is hilarious, suspenseful, and interesting.
