I’ve been studying French now for a while, and have slowly graduated to reading French novels. While finding classics is simple, finding something contemporary seems more difficult, however. I would love to get suggestions of interesting French modern fiction authors, whose works I could start to read.
My preferred genres are crime, war, detective and mystery. Good comical texts are also appreciated. No fantasy or horror, please. Sci-fi I do enjoy, but considering my current level of language, those might prove a stretch to read.
