    Hi.

As title says, need recommendation for social skills books on dealing with stupid and complicated bosses.
Since 1.1. this year I am (not by choice) underling of person who got his job through contacts. And unfortunately also underling of some hens he brought with himself.
He gives orders like you have all the info, when you only have like 10%. So you have to ask him a lot of additional questions, which annoys him, but he usually answers. Also he struggles with basic knowledge of things in the field and you have to carefully explain to him, multiple times, why his idea is bad for us, when he comes with stupid solution.
My most direct boss is a woman, who cannot work under stress, when nervous she snaps at first person who crosses her path. If she is wrong, you have to steer her in the right direction by making her think it was her idea. And she is vindictive. She got some people fired right after she started working, just because, without checking first how necessary they are.

So I need some books with ideas on how to deal with them. At make me at least not look bad in their eyes. In best case scenario, help me get on good basis with them.

With my previous bosses in this work I could speak openly, they were knowledgeable in this field and great personally. So this is a big shift.

I heard that books like "Working with idiots" are not very good. And I do not usually read "self-help" or "social skills" or how this is called books.

I read "Everything is F*cked" like 5 years ago and liked it. But it will not help me in this situation. And probably liked it because I rarely read this type of books.

    Thanks for any tips.

If you wonder why I do not quit. We all at work hope they are not permanent, their positions are based on current ruling political parties. I like the job itself, so I just want to wait it out. And with any luck, I hope to be able to get on paid leave for quite some time, and they will be gone when I return. But getting that paid leave requires some time and planing.
