The most fundamental and transformative work for me was "On the Transience of Life" by Lucius Annaeus Seneca, which I read after the death of my uncle, a proponent of stoicism. Before that, I didn't understand why he was trying to give me these "bitter medicines." I've changed radically, and now I, too, believe this work is essential for all suffering souls in our age. What do you think? What work has forever changed you and your attitude toward something? What, in your opinion, is an essential "medicinal" work that you would recommend to anyone, as I would recommend "On the Transience of Life"? I apologize in advance for the wording; I'm not a native English speaker.
