I am in a big reading slump. Have a lot on my shelf but lacking the want to read them. I usually crush through books, especially around the holidays but haven't found something I really want to read. Looking for suggestions for page turners that I won't be able to put down to get me out of my funk. Genre doesn't matter too much – I like general fiction, mystery/thrillers or investigative novels, but really anything goes!

Have you done Elvis Cole and Joe Pike? Those are usually 1-2 day reads for me. Maybe Reacher if you haven’t done them or the Peter Ash books which are kind of a Reacher clone but maybe better imo.

    2. S.A. Cosby is great for getting out of a slump if you’re looking for some good fast paced investigatory action. king of Ashes is his newest, I also love All the Sinners bleed, razor blade tears, or blacktop wasteland. audio also amazing in all!

    3. When I was in a reading slump last year, I read the Lighthouse Witches by CJ Cooke! It’s a thriller. And later I read The Nesting by her which was also fun!

Also Rachel Harrison books are super readable. They’re like a cozy horror with a little spice. Cackle was probably my favorite. Or Black Sheep.

If you’re in a sci-fi mood, I can highly recommend “Ancillary Justice,” “A Canticle for Leibowitz,” “Our Lady of the Artilects,” “To Say Nothing of the Dog,” “Black Out,” “All Clear.” Those last three are in the same universe. “Murderbot” is fun. I’m currently reading “War and Peace” and it is surprisingly good (Anthony Briggs translation unless you want to slog through a lot of French).
