My TBR for 2026 is filled with sci-fi and fantasy, but I want to branch out into nonfiction. The next nonfiction book I plan to read is James C. Scott's The Art of Not Being Governed: An Anarchist History of Upland Southeast Asia. I'm looking for more suggestions across various types of nonfiction (history, anthropology, sociology, politics, economics) about Asia, particularly East Asia and Southeast Asia.
