Hey y’all,
So I just finished Monk and Robot. It’s a series I normally wouldn’t pick up, but I really enjoyed it.
I did read some other posts about Monk and Robot here, but the focus was usually on just the cozy aspect. I did like that, but without the deeper questions of Monk and Robot, I don’t think it would’ve quite captured my attention.
What I Want
– Philosophical questions as a main idea.
One of my biggest interests in life is how people can live well. I liked the question of “What do humans need?” If anything, I was a little let down that the question wasn’t explored more explicitly. Looking for books that explore deep questions, especially about living well.
– Vision of a better world
Loved how Panga was moving towards a more human way of being, more about doing good for each other. The world itself doesn’t necessarily have to be better, but at least people working towards it.
– “Cozy”
I’m surprised how much I liked the lack of conflict. I’m used to maybe a little more violence/conflict in SFF books, and it was actually nice to not have the world falling apart.
Open to any suggestions. Thanks yall.
