Hoping to start a book club with my aunt. Trying to get her into reading more!
We’re latine, working class immigrants who have and experience machismo, misogyny, addiction, mental health issues, transphobia, dropped out of middle school, experienced poverty in our lifetimes.
Maybe these some topics being present in the literature can help our minds learn something new or get new perspectives on related topics. ( not expecting them all to be included lol )

She also just lost her husband a year ago so she’s been grieving things out and I see that she only uses her phone, I’d like to help her find new ways to find enjoyment and peace.
