Almost done with The Secret History by Donna Tartt. Can solidly say that I love it. But a couple of references regarding the actual studies of the students (Greek, Latin, certain prose, etc.) were lost on me. I don't mind, as I feel like this adds to the elitist, isolating vibe that the characters give you in a meta sort of sense, but if you're someone that's actually studied the classics you'd probably get a kick out of all the references.
I studied Fine Art; while very different from Lit, they both fall under a Liberal Arts category where I think a lot of the themes exploring these two subjects could potentially be very similar. That said, are there any 'dark academia' books that explore similar themes, but are focused on fine arts instead? Would love to hear any suggestions!
