In the last six months I’ve read and absolutely loved (and/or listened to) Lonesome Dove, Dead Man’s Walk, and all seven Dungeon Crawler Carl books (thanks to those of y’all that recommended them). And now I feel like I’ve peaked, I don’t even feel like any other books could possibly be nearly as satisfying as these. I literally just finished DCC last night. I’m in the process of listening to Shogun, but it’s been meh. I’ll typically have one book I’m reading, and one book that I listen to while I’m driving.

I need something that sucks me in. I don’t particularly care about the genre, I just need something equally as amazing and captivating as these books. I literally can’t stop thinking about Lonesome Dove and Dungeon Crawler Carl. Help lol.

    1. When this happens to me, I take a break for a week. Listen to music or podcasts and then jump back in to a great new book.

    2. You mentioned Dead Man’sWalk, but not Streets of Laredo and Comanche Moon, so there’s more in the Lonesome Dove world if you haven’t read those.

I love Robin Hobbs’ books, they all take place in the same universe. The recommended starting point is the Farseer trilogy (first book is Assassin’s Apprentice).
