I’m a bit of a sucker for the trope, but there are two major issues I have with it. It seems like every Enemies to Lovers book nowadays is either
1) Not actually enemies, but moderate distaste at most. They find each other annoying but aren’t actually enemies
And/Or
2) By chapter 3 they are already working together and waxing poetic about how much they shouldn’t be looking at the other this way
I’m looking for books that have actual enemies, that slowly over time are forced to look past that for whatever reason, and eventually end up in love, instead of immediately joining forces and jumping into bed by chapter 5.
No specific genre requirements, but bonus points if it’s sci fi or fantasy. All levels of spice are welcome
