This question is for the Souls Gamers out there, but honestly, I'll take any suggestions I can get.

I've been a reader most of my life, but due to unmedicated ADD and Dyslexia, I have a hard time focusing these days. I have most of the classics in the LOTR, Cosmere, Warhammer, and Forgotten Realms / D&D Universes.

So the question is, what are some of your favorite books that give that Dark Souls Vibe?

It could be something simple, like The Princess Bride with it's sword-fighting and ruins, but I'd prefer something that feels like King's Field or Dark Souls.

Something with focus on the characters actions, with the narrative being story and world, and less on pages and pages of dialogue.

Bonus points for books that are stand-alone titles, so I don't have to commit to a whole series.

Books I don't like are Game of Thrones and other ones where every other named character is killed off. I'd ideally like a simple cast with more focus on the exploration of a souls-esque world.

Also, I don't want Victorian. I'm not looking for Bloodborne, but rather Dark Souls and Demon's Souls. TBH, the Victorian vibe takes away from the worlds that I'm looking to mentally inhabit.
