Im looking for some short books to read. Usually Im reading long litrpg and progression fantasy, but now I want something shorter, and by this I mean only 1 book, up to lets say, 500 pages (but I would prefer less), ending with a satisfying conclusion.

My favourite series is Dungeon Crawler Carl, but I also liked Cradle.

Recently I have read How to Defeat a Demon King in 10 Easy Steps and I really liked it! Good humor, a lot of references to Zelda, decent characters, short story (only 160 pages!) with no wasting time, and an actual ending (not very common in this genre). I want more books like it.

It doesnt have to be progression fantasy, litrpg, or even fantasy, but something with a similar vibe to it, like Ready Player One. Also, I like humor in books, clear objectives, light tone, and focus on one character. I dont like when a book is dragging, has too much worldbuilding, pointless conversations, politic fantasy or too many characters.

    So, any recommendations?

Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett is a parody of hard boiled detective fiction in a fantasy world.

If Found, Return to Hell by Em X. Liu is a fantasy novella (about 165 pages) about a wizard customer service agent who ends up involved in an off the clock demonic possession situation. It’s delightful.
