Throwaway for obvious reasons.
Hi all. I’m a parent of young kids, and while I don’t want separation, I’m starting to confront the possibility that staying in a high-conflict environment may do more harm than good. That realization alone has been really hard to type.
I’m looking for parenting books that focus on helping children grow up emotionally healthy if their parents separate or end up co-parenting across two households. I’m especially interested in books that are practical, child-centered, and grounded in research rather than blame or ideology.
My goal isn’t to “win” anything or bad-mouth the other parent. I just want to show up well for my kids, protect their emotional development, and avoid repeating mistakes that hurt children long-term.
If a book helped you, someone you know, or is often recommended by professionals, I’d really appreciate the suggestion. Thank you.
