I'm fairly new to reading as a hobby again and I've found an author whose books I really like, so was hoping for more suggestions on books like these!
Author I like: Ali Hazelwood
Books I loved: Deep End & Problematic Summer Romance
What I liked about them:
- Love interest character is obsessed with the protagonist / worships the ground she walks on lol
- well written, gripping story
- good amount of smut, not too much, not too little
- YEARNING lol the characters relationship really builds to the point you are kicking your feet when they finally get together
- nothing too sad or happens. I don't want to fall in love with a man for him to die in a car crash lol
- other women in the book are also strong characters and even "rivals" in the love triangle are not written mysogynistically / unfairly. I love to hate a character sometimes but not just cause she's an attractive woman lol
Things I'm NOT really into in romance books
- fantasy / vampires / werewolves / occult. I like realistic stories, even if a little far fetched
- badly written. No shade to one particular author or others like them, but I just need the book to be descriptive, have a tight plot, believable dialogue, not too repetitive.
- YA vibes – gunna be honest I want the smut lol. I enjoyed Check & Mate by Ali Hazelwood too, but it was a bit too YA for me so hard to relate to the characters as I'm much older.
