I read very widely genre wise, but I’m an epic fantasy girlie at heart. I generally will read other genres in between or alongside denser fantasy reads.
I’d like to get into more contemporary romance. I’m aware of and enjoy the big hitters. I’ve read and enjoyed almost all of Emily Henry’s, Ali Hazelwood’s, and Abby Jimenez’s backlist and I’m stumped on where to go next. As an aside I have tried Christina Lauren’s works and for whatever reason did not jive with them.
What I think I enjoy most in a contemporary romance is that it’s told in a sarcastic/humorous tone but still has deep heartfelt moments between the couple. I also prefer when the couple isn’t separated for most of the book. I’m mainly reading a contemporary romance for the couple so I want to read scenes with them together.
My two favorite tropes in order are: fake dating and second chance romance. I’m wondering where I should go next?
