My girlfriend and I have been enjoying the book The Ghosts of Austin: Who They Are and Where to Find Them by Fiona Broome. We're not really into ghosts but we love the local history and the short stories about a variety of people and places. We read them out loud before bed so an easy to read format split into sections is best. We're really interested primarily in Austin and Central Texas, but we would be open to general Texas recommendations as well. What other books would fit this category?
