I’m looking for a book explaining the generations. How and why they are decided. How they are named. Anything like that. I would like this to try to explain things to my kids.

By ‘generations’ do you mean, demographics? Like the differences between Boomer/GenX/Millenials?
Or do you mean by genealogy?
For demographics, I would consider ‘Boom Bust Echo’, but there are so many books that talk about specific co-horts too: Generations: the real differences between GenZ etc etc , or perhaps ‘The Generation Myth’, might be what you are looking for?
For genealogical stuff and researching family trees, I’m not sure. I know the Mormons have HUGE archives and databases but beyond that, I don’t know.
