I started reading again recently and remembering how much I love it. I started with It's Kind of a Funny Story and realized that I was looking for something a lot more intense and adult. I used to love books like I Know What You Did Last Summer, Narnia, etc. so I'm open to a lot!

I prefer really emotional or dark media/books because they resonate with me a lot so I'm looking forward to what you guys have. Doesn't matter how long it is or how expensive it is. I'll fill that damn B&N cart up so fast.

The most devastating book I ever read was We Need to Talk About Kevin. I still think about it more than 15 years later.

    2. Something Wicked this Way Comes

Our Wives Under the Sea – both of topics wanted

      World War Z

    3. This is a very hit or miss, since it’s a Booktok YA book but for some reason we were liars wrecked me. It’s definetely not even close to best books ever written but something about it broke me, I sob everytime I read it.

    4. Some of my favourite horror books that *really* stuck with me, that I still think about all the time:

      – “The Troop”, “The Deep”, and “The Queen” by [Nick Cutter](https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/6984661.Nick_Cutter)
      – “Between Two Fires”, “The Lesser Dead”, and “The Daughter’s War” by [Christopher Buehlman](https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/4712375.Christopher_Buehlman)
      – “The Devil Crept In” by [Ania Ahlborn](https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/4867939.Ania_Ahlborn)
      – “The Night Strangers” by [Chris Bohjalian](https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/3509.Chris_Bohjalian)
      – “The Visitors” by [Catherine Burns](https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/17687965.Catherine_Burns)
      – “Pet Semetary” by [Stephen King](https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/3389.Stephen_King)

    5. *The Road* by Cormac McCarthy is the most emotionally devastating book I’ve ever read. Brutal, soul crushing despair. Really different from the other books you mentioned, and McCarthy’s writing style takes a little getting used to
