I just recently got into reading again (the last time I was an avid reader was during the twilight saga era. Lol). There are so many book recommendations out there and it can be overwhelming for someone who doesn’t know what genre to look for. I’m looking for some must-read books that will keep me engaged. I have ADHD, and slow-moving books are incredibly hard to get through for me.

My genre preferences are sort of all over the place. I’m open to any genre, but I don’t like romance novels just for the sake of romance. I want good stories.

Here are some books that I’ve read recently that I’ve loved:

    – Women by Kristin Hannah

    – Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

    – All the Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer

    – All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

    – The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

    – The Secret History by Donna Tartt

    – The Secret of Secrets by Dan Brown

Here are some books that I did not enjoy:

    – Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese (beautifully written, so boring)

    – ACOTAR (NOT my thing. Don’t come for me)

    – The Mountain and the Sea (poorly written, boring)

Based on your list you’d probably love *The Book Thief* by Marcus Zusak – it’s got that same emotional historical fiction vibe as the Kristin Hannah books but moves at a really good pace

Also maybe try *Gone Girl* by Gillian Flynn if you want something that’ll keep you absolutely glued to the pages, it’s twisted in the best way
