I read almost all mystery-thriller books—particularly domestic thriller—but I’m feeling a little spent and looking for something different (and maybe less murder-y.)
I’m looking for compelling contemporary fiction book that isn’t dark but also isn’t quaint and cutesy.

Have you tried Circe by Madeline Miller? It’s got that page-turning quality you’re used to but it’s more mythological/character-driven than murder-y
