I am looking for a suggestion for someone who likes Murakami, but is done listening to him go on about women’s warm wet mouths and tiny ears. I love magical realism and Murakami is easily my favorite magical realism author, but the way that he describes women in his books makes my skin crawl a little bit.

I couldn’t agree more. I think he’s a gifted writer, but I stopped reading his books for the same reason.
