I read several classics: most of Dostoyevsky, Shakespeare, Alexandre Dumas, Bob Dylan (heh) Dante, Faust, Infinte Jest.
I’ve tried 4 times Ulysses by Joyce and I can’t go through the first third.
Right now I’m with harry potta as it was a gift I didn’t ask for, but oh well.
I’m wondering if Proust is worth the time and effort
Thanks

It’s definitely more accessible than Joyce but still a commitment – like if Dostoyevsky had a really long conversation with his therapist about cookies. If you bounced off Ulysses that hard I’d maybe wait until you’re in the right headspace for 7 volumes of beautiful meandering
