Suggest me the scariest book you’ve ever read that doesn’t have graphic sexual content

I’m a huge fan of horror novels, with some of my favorites being in the post-apocalyptic categrory (I love The Road by Cormac McCarthy) – but many of which have graphic sex (whether consensual or not) which is really off-putting to me. What are the scariest books you’ve read without sexual content in them? thanks!!
