Hey everyone,
My girlfriend and I have a little ritual where we read books out loud to each other in turns, and we’re looking for our next read.
So far we really loved:
• Kafka on the Shore – Murakami
• Dune – Frank Herbert
We’re looking for something that works well when read aloud:
• Engaging prose
• Interesting atmosphere / world
• Good flow and rhythm in the writing
• Ideally something that sparks conversation or interpretation
We’re open to:
• Literary fiction
• Sci-fi / fantasy
• Magical realism
• Or anything that has a strong “vibe” and is fun to experience together
Bonus points if it’s:
• Not too dry or technical
• Not super short
• And has chapters or sections that feel good to stop and switch readers
What would you recommend?
Thanks! 📚✨

True Grit by Charles Portis.
Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman
The description sounds absurd but it is an engaging story and I think reading it out loud to someone else would be hilarious and entertaining for both people.
