Hello! I am dating a wonderful woman who has a profoundly physically disabled brother who requires 24/7 care. Currently her parents are his full-time caregivers, but they are getting older and the caregiving has become a challenge for them.

As we get more serious about a life together, we are having hard conversations about how her brother's care and how that would fit into our future life. She has a lot of resentment about her brother, but also feels obligated to take on his care. It has been very emotionally difficult and I feel overwhelmed in trying to process my feelings and make grounded decisions.

As a lifelong reader, I have always found literature as one of the best resources for processing my emotions and finding solace. I am looking for books that explore these themes, including themes of growing up with a disabled sibling, caregiving, and navigating love and relationships in the context of caregiving. I don't need to read something that exactly matches this situation, but anything that would be helpful and beneficial. I primarily read classic literature and literary fiction, but I am open to nonfiction, memoir, even self-help style books. Whatever you have! Thanks in advance.
