Hello all. My attention span with reading is worsening. I have ADHD and can only manage reading short books or stories now.

Can anyone recommend some short stories or novellas for me? I’m into mysteries, thrillers, horror, non fiction, post apocalyptic stories, cozy mysteries

    1. Stephen King has several short story collections. “Everything’s Eventual” is one of my favorite collections.

    2. The Murder Bot series could be great for you. First is *All Systems Red* by Martha Wells.

A few of the most impactful short novels I’ve read recently:

Claire Keegan’s *Foster* and *Small Things Like These*

*I Who Have Never Known Men* by Jacqueline Harpman

*Convenience Store Woman* by Sayaka Murata.

The interesting thing about reading really short books is that it builds your tolerance for longer books. The short ones are over too fast!

    3. Stephen King has many excellent short story and novella collections. My favourites are Skeleton Crew, Night Shift, Different Seasons, and Four Past Midnight.

Some shorter novels/stories I have enjoyed are Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck; Cannery Row by John Steinbeck; A Short Stay in Hell by Steven L Peck; The Lottery by Shirley Jackson; The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Gilman; Bartleby they Scrivener by Herman Melville; I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman.
