Feels like a very specific request/vibe? Hoping someone can help!
Everything I’ve picked up lately has been VERY uncomfortable and I’d like to lighten things up a bit. Here my most recent reads:
– The Vegetarian: amazing read, can not stop thinking about it and also don’t want to be that unsettled during a plane ride?
– Dominion
– Vanishing World
– I’m glad my mom died: this one wasn’t too heavy because her humor did make it land a bit softer but still a lot
I think I’m looking for something similiar to Convenience Store Woman? I like awkward characters and a bit of social commentary.
David Sedaris if my all time fav author but I’ve read all his stuff multiple times.

Very funny, pertinent social commentary treated with humane touch, fantastic character. Sounds perfect for your mood.
You’ll probably like “Really Good, Actually.” The narrator is trying to build a life after divorce. She’s more tolerable and funnier to me that the narrator is “No one is talking about this,” less angry woman narrator and more hot mess narrator.
