Hello! I’ve been to a lot of local bookstores and chains and I can’t seem to find a book that really appeals to me on this. My mother developed a terminal lung condition (not cancer but if that’s the closest a book can get I’m willing to read that) two years ago while I was in my junior year of highschool. This has led me and my family to become a full time caregiver for her and my blind deaf grandmother. I’ve watched her lose her ability to work, her income, almost all of her function to the point where she’s bedridden and can only speak for short periods without losing breath now. I’d really like to read something about a young person becoming a caregiver for a parent or experiencing this grief as I’m sitting at home going to a community college watching all of my friends choose their new lives and move on. I just feel stuck, and I fear that when she does pass I’ll still be stuck if I can’t find something to relate to about this.
I feel really isolated in this and my mom and I always connected over our love for reading so I really would like to read from someone who has experienced something or read about something similar.
