I think I would like Morally grey books. I love a subplot romance 🤤 or even subtle romance. Nothing that ROMANTICIZE SA please❌.I love anyazing characters. Love me Complex well written characters. There is a special place in my heart for teens against the world ❤️.
Did someone say Dystopian? Post Apocalyptic? How crazy is the plot twist 😏. Not a huge fan on futuristic 👉👈. And no time travel 🙏. That being said I am pretty open to genre🤷♀️.But don’t traumatize me🥹 fuck me up but no trauma 🥺. How crazy is the plot twist 😏.
Be nice 😊. She where you got them/ read them if e-book.

We’ve got a book club and we’re starting The Picture of Dorian Gray tomorrow. If you’re okay, DM me and I’ll send you the link so you can join and explore with us 😁🌻✨
If you want something emotional but not traumatic, try ***What We Never Say***.
It’s subtle romance, morally grey emotions, and very character-driven — more “unsaid feelings” than dramatic chaos. It hurts a little, but in a calm, relatable way. No SA, no over-romanticizing pain.
If you also want something easy and practical on the side, ***Marketing on Autopilot*** is a simple, no-fluff read about growing with smart strategies.
A few to look into
– The Hunger Games (more morally grey than it looks, especially later books)
– Station Eleven — post-apocalyptic but very human and not traumatizing
– The Maze Runner — fast, twisty, and focused on survival over tech
– The Giver — subtle, unsettling, and very character-focused
Some good suggestions have been mentioned, one that doesn’t get brought up a ton is the “Lost Light” series by Kyla Stone. It was the first thing I thought of when reading your wants, you might like it.
Check out In Powder Blue by Nikolas Pleiadi. It’s one of those books that feels less like a story and more like being dropped straight into someone’s real life. It’s raw and dark and painfully honest about grief, addiction, family, and a side of organized crime that isn’t glamorous at all. There’s no tough guy fantasy here, just real consequences, real damage, and a lot of complicated love tangled up with bad decisions. There were moments that emotionally genuinely caught me off guard
-Julie chan is dead by liann zhang is pretty good. The mc is morally gray (she steals her influencer twin sister’s identity when she finds her dead) and the story is easy and fun to read but still well written. It also has a lot of funny moments despite it being a horror/thriller. Id advise you to check the content warnings though, i didn’t find it especially disturbing but theres an animal abuse scene that bothered many people
-last days by brian evanson also has a morally gray mc with really unexpected plot twists and is very entertaining
