My mum has just finished reading The Thursday Murder Club series and needs something new to hook into. She is not usually a reader but she LOVED this series. She told me that she was sad because she was really going to miss the characters.
She isn’t into anything too gruesome in terms of mysteries, I think she really enjoys groups of fun characters and their friendships and dynamics.

Amelia Peabody series by Elizabeth Peters, a female British archeologist and family solve crimes in Egypt and England in the late 1800s and early 1900s, through WWI, fun series, the audiobooks are well done.
Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn is ok, it’s not as good as Thursday Murder Club, the sequel is ok as well.
