I live in a small town in the woods and I want a horror book that’s going to make me scared to go out. Love anything small town cult, abandoned town/liminal spaces, towns that aren’t as they appear, etc. Bonus points for anything atmospheric set in the woods/forest. Not super into gore, paranormal stuff, or “lost in the woods” type stories, but not completely opposed either if they fit the vibe. Thank you!!!

The anthology We Won’t Be Here Tomorrow by Margaret Killjoy has a lot of short stories like this
