I LOVE a light sci-fi thriller. Some examples of what’s really worked for me are Dark Matter, Recursion, and (to a lesser extent) Upgrade by Blake Crouch, The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North, Lexicon by Max Barry, and I just started Simultaneous by Eric Heisserer and am also enjoying it so far! I have Annihilation by Jeef Vandermeer, The Gone World, The Fold, and There is no Antimimetics Division on my TBR for this category. What am I missing? I never want to run out of books like this!!

Highly recommend “Pale Grey Dot, by Don Miasek.” Sort of a Jason Bourne meets The Expanse.

    2. Sphere, Jurassic Park, The Andromeda Strain, Prey all by Michael Crichton.

The Sigma Force series by James Rollins is also fantastic through Bloodline. Map of Bones was my favorite from the series.

I’ve been loving The Laundry Files by Charles Stross lately as well, the first novel is 3 novellas stitched together though. You can start with The Fuller Memorandum and not miss much.
