Hi. I've recently gotten back into reading and I've started the hunger games series, and absolutely love it. I finished the trilogy in 4 days and am picking up BoSS today, I was just wondering if you guys had any book suggestions that I could pick up once I'm done with the five books.
In particular, what I love about hunger games is the writing, Suzanne is able to articulate so well and so vividly every emotion, interaction that the characters have and so I'm able to paint the moment so clearly in my head. I don't care much about the romance, although it's one of the better written ones. The rebellion is also written very well because it's not glamorized, it's dirty, grimy, and overall I feel that the characters respond realistically to what a war would inflict on its victims>
I also have to clarify, I don't really like "chosen one" tropes, especially when it's so in your face– which is why I love HG. It does have elements of that trope, but I feel like throughout the novels it becomes apparent that Katniss isn't a protagonist, instead, she's simply the lens by which we view the story. Anyone in Hunger games could be the protagonist and it would be just as interesting, Johanna, Finnick, Gale, Peeta.
