Looking for a funny book with loveable zanny sociopaths, extremely petty people that are morally bankrupt spiting anyone that slights them over petty things. No overly evil people, prefer light in tone.
Im mainly thinking of Baby Billy from Righteous Gemstones or especially Lee Russel from Vice Principals ( i love walter goggins)
I have read confederacy of dunces, and Ignatius Reilly adjacent characters are what im looking for
Books with funny hijinks like accidently burning someones house down just to get their jobs etc.

You should definitely check out The Sellout by Paul Beatty – the main character is petty as hell and does absolutely unhinged stuff for the most ridiculous reasons. Also maybe try Catch-22, Yossarian isn’t exactly a sociopath but he’s morally flexible and the whole book is just people being terrible to each other in hilarious ways
If you want something more recent, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine has a protagonist who’s basically dead inside but in a weirdly endearing way
