Only Revolutions by Mark Z. Danielewski. To grossly over-simplify it’s a road novel version of Romeo and Juliet exploring the American Dream.

Sorry you’re going through that. If you want weird that still feels grounding, try Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer, The Hearing Trumpet by Leonora Carrington, or The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett if you like odd mysteries. For short bursts, Ted Chiang’s Stories of Your Life and Others is great between applications, or Kelly Link’s Magic for Beginners. While you’re hunting, I’ve had better luck avoiding the scammy stuff by signing up for wfhalert, it just emails legit remote roles and keeps the noise down.

Blob by Maggie Su. It’s about a woman who finds a sentient blob and molds it into a perfect man. It’s so cringe but also a weirdly life affirming story about finding yourself.

Not sure if its weird, but its free right now on amazon — A World We Never Knew: Chance.

Susanna Clarke – Piranesi. Pretty weird in my eyes, and one of the best books I’ve ever read.
